Collecting donations and helping our communities

Together we can make a difference for our homeless community members during our Edmonton winters.

Inspired by community leaders and loved ones before us, Warmth 2 Go is a group of volunteers reaching out in kind. We welcome all who want to participate as we come together to provide care packages each winter for Edmonton’s houseless community members.

About us

Where were you for the polar vortex of February 2019? Our founder, Alison Neuman, was in her home, grateful to have food and shelter. Grateful to be warm.

“Many Edmontonians were vulnerable and I felt helpless,” she said. “I didn’t have much money to offer and my ability to access volunteer opportunities in my wheelchair were limited.”

And so, Project Warmth was born. With the help of the Print Machine (a local custom print shop), the Bissell Centre (a non-profit serving those experiencing poverty in Edmonton), and a team of volunteers (Alison’s family and friends), Alison coordinated a sale where for every sweatshirt purchased, a sweatshirt was donated for our houseless community members.Click to edit text. The following winter, the pandemic restrictions prevented another sweatshirt sale, but that did not stop Alison from helping our vulnerable Edmontonians. In memory of the kindness and generosity of Alison’s parents, Project Warmth was revamped as Warmth 2 Go.

In the winter of 2021/22, the Warmth 2 Go team set out to provide Edmonton’s houseless community members with 192 care packages, the number of combined years of the first two members in the legacy honour. The donation drive ran from mid-December to mid-January, connecting and empowering all who wanted to participate. Our care packages included knapsacks, gloves, socks, hand warmers, toiletries, snacks, and beverages. On February 6, 2022, we exceeded our goal and delivered over two hundred care packages in Edmonton.

We are thankful for all those who made this happen, including:

In winter 2022/23, Warmth 2 Go is adding legacy honour members and increasing our goal to add 500 hundred care packages! We hope one day to have one care package for every houseless vulnerable community member.

We will be collecting gift card donations from November 1 to the 30.
